room air independent
Low-energy houses and passive houses in particular are residential buildings in which room-sealed fireplace inserts should be favoured over other heating options. These houses in particular have such a tight outer shell that the energy required for heating is very low in order to keep the home and building warm. It is therefore vital to ensure regular ventilation in such houses. Otherwise, there is a risk that moisture damage, e.g. stubborn and destructive mould, will quickly develop. Accordingly, controlled ventilation systems ensure a constant exchange of air in such houses. Here, room-sealed fireplace inserts avoid the risk of negative pressure that could otherwise arise when extracting the room air, resulting in dangerous flue gases being drawn into the room.
Conclusion: Room-sealed fireplace inserts are best suited to the requirements of passive and low-energy houses.
The room-sealed gas fire inserts from DRU, Camina-Schmid, Brunner, Faber and Wanders are available in many designs.
